PARC's Legacy Fund Reaches $99,825, Just Short of Its $100,000 Goal
Protect American River Canyons has built a $99,825 endowment since 2008 to block the Auburn Dam, clear canyon trash, and defend the canyon-rim viewshed. Here is what it funds and how to give.

Protect American River Canyons (PARC) reports that its Legacy Fund reached $99,825 at the December 2025 year-end. That is $175 short of the $100,000 goal. PARC started the fund in 2008 and has grown it steadily since.
The endowment funds four concrete purposes. It works to prevent construction of the Auburn Dam. It pays to remove trash from the canyons. It protects the canyon-rim viewshed by opposing inappropriate rim housing. It also supports signage for canyon users.
The fund is professionally managed by the Placer Community Foundation at 219 Maple St. #200, Auburn, CA 95603. Housing the principal with a community foundation means the money is managed for the long term, not spent down in any single year.
There are two simple ways to give. Mail a check payable to "PCF/PARC Legacy Fund" to the Placer Community Foundation address above. Or donate online at placercf.org/parc-legacy-fund.
Larger gifts are also possible. PARC notes the fund can accept bequests, retirement-plan assets, securities, real estate, life insurance, and charitable trusts. The canyons face the same threats on both sides of any organizational line. A fully funded endowment gives PARC a durable base to keep fighting the dam, clearing trash, and guarding the view.
